Bharat TV, Radio, News Live — com.bharatlive.app

Last updated: 12 August 2026

The short version

Bharat Live has no server, no account and no sign-in. Almost everything it does — the panchang, the calendar, the calculators — is computed on your phone and never leaves it.

The app is free and paid for by advertising, so the one meaningful exception is Google AdMob, which does collect data. That is described in full below.

What we never collect

There is no Bharat Live server anywhere. We could not collect your data if we wanted to, because there is nowhere for it to go.

Specifically, this app contains no user account or login, no analytics of any kind, no crash reporting service, and no advertising or marketing SDK other than Google AdMob. It never asks for your contacts, photos, files, microphone, camera, SMS, call log, calendar or payment details, and it declares none of those permissions.

We — the developer — receive no personal information about you at all. Not your name, not your email, not your device id, not what you watched or listened to.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app shows ads through Google AdMob. Google is an independent controller of that data and its own privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy

To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, device model and operating system version, coarse location inferred from your IP address, and the fact that an ad was shown or tapped. It does not receive anything you have typed into this app.

You can reset or delete the advertising ID at any time in Android Settings, under Privacy or Google, and turn on "Delete advertising ID" to stop personalised advertising entirely.

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before serving personalised ads, using Google's official consent form. You can change that choice later from a "Privacy options" entry that appears in Settings when your region requires one.

No ad is ever shown inside the Live TV player.

What the app connects to

Using an internet feature necessarily reveals your IP address to whoever you are connecting to. There is no way around that, and none of it comes to us.

Radio: the station directory comes from the Radio Browser open directory (radio-browser.info). Requests carry your IP address and the text "BharatLive" and contain no identifier for you. When you play a station, your phone connects directly to that broadcaster's own streaming server. Some stations only offer unencrypted HTTP, which means someone monitoring the same network could in principle see which station you are listening to.

Live TV: Doordarshan channels play through YouTube's embedded player, so YouTube receives your IP address and applies its own cookies and policies, exactly as if you had opened youtube.com. Channels marked with an arrow leave the app and open in YouTube itself.

Station and channel artwork is fetched from the image host each station lists.

What is stored on your phone

All of this stays on your device unless you have Android's own backup switched on.

The app saves your chosen language, theme, dark mode setting, panchang city and notification preferences; your saved favourite channels and radio stations; and, if and only if you entered them for the astrology feature, your date of birth and time of birth.

Your birth details are used solely to compute your janma rashi on your phone. They are never transmitted anywhere.

If Android's "Back up to Google Drive" is on for your device, these files are included in that backup. That copy belongs to your own Google account, not to us, and you can turn it off in Android Settings.

Permissions

Internet and network state — to stream radio and TV and to load ads.

Notifications — only to post the festival and panchang reminders you switch on yourself, and to show the radio playback controls. Reminders are off by default.

Foreground service and media playback — so radio keeps playing when you leave the app, with proper controls on your lock screen.

Run at startup — so the reminders you enabled survive a reboot.

No location permission. The app does not request or read your device location at all. Your panchang city is chosen from your device's time zone, and you can change it yourself in Settings. If a future version ever uses location, it will ask you first and this page will be updated before it ships.

Children

This app is not directed at children. Ads are limited to a general-audience rating.

Deleting your data

Because nothing is stored on a server, uninstalling the app deletes everything it holds — settings, favourites, and any birth details.

To clear it without uninstalling, use Android Settings, then Apps, then Bharat Live, then Storage, then Clear data.

To remove the advertising identifier Google holds, use the Android privacy settings described above.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it and the updated version ships in an app update.
